"Be joyful always; pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances" 1 Thessalonians 5 : 16
PRAYER POINTS (posted 29th July, updated 13th September 2006)
The classes with the prison children – their behaviour hasn’t been good this week (and we’ve been learning about obedience as well!) Please pray that they will learn from their classes and realise that God has a plan for them.

Sundays at church - the children sing, go to Sunday School and after the service, everyone stays to have lunch together, and then we take the kids home. Because there are so many kids at the moment (usually around 50 coming with us each week) we need to do at least 2 trips in the truck and when one group is going home, the group that is left tends to get up to no good! Give God thanks for so many children attending the church and pray for improved behaviour.

The Viri Justiniano Family - Maira’s husband is in the prison and she was living there with him with their 3 youngest children, while 2 other daughters, aged 12 and 14 lived alone in their house. They weren’t going to school and were out late at night and had no one to look after them properly. The child protection department is now working with the family. Please pray that Maira will start being more responsible and stay at home with her children and look after them and not leave them alone while she spends all her time with her husband in the jail. Pray also for the children.

Chepi, who is 7 years old, and has a heart murmur - He needs to go to Santa Cruz for an echo scan of his heart to find out how serious the problem is. We need to find out how to get him to Santa Cruz, have the tests done and then take him back to the cardiologist to see what the next step is. Pray for Chepi and his family at this time.
Chicho and Rachel - for patience and strength to deal with so many children and that they would have big smiles like those opposite on Sunday afternoons after church with 50 kids! Also for wisdom to teach these children more about the Lord. Also for Rachel's health - she has been suffering from regular bad headaches and insomnia and hasn't been feeling too well.

Transport has become a problem in the past couple of month, but in a good way - we don't have enough room for all the children that want to come to church with us! We need to do at least 2 trips in the truck and it becomes very time-consuming and difficult to control one group of children when we're taking another group home. We're looking into the possibility of selling the pick-up truck to be able to buy something bigger so we can fit all the kids in at once. Please pray for this transport issue and that God would guide us to the right vehicle.

The children's behaviour has been better this month. We now have a new volunteer, Gabriela, helping us and it should be easier to work in smaller groups and keep control in the class with 3 of us. She started on the 12th September. Please pray that God will help Gabriela as she gets involved, gets to know the children and serves God in this ministry.
Church attendance continues to be encouraging, and the behaviour varies - when it's cold, the kids behave better - if only we lived in Scotland!
We travelled to Santa Cruz with Chepi last week and were able to see a specialist and have the echo scan done. The doctor thinks that surgery might be necessary and we need to talk to the cardiologist here in Trinidad. Please keep praying for Chepi and his health.
Please keep praying for this family. Child Protection has not done anything yet and 4 of the children now live in the prison and Reina (14) was living alone and not going to school for a few weeks. She now lives with an older sister. Pray for safety and protection for Reina and for the younger girls travelling to school from the prison every day. Please pray for changed attitudes of the parents.
Rachel's health is still not too good. Please continue to pray for better health - and patience, strength and wisdom for both Chicho and Rachel is a constant prayer request!
We have found a 21-seater mini bus in Santa Cruz that would be perfect for transporting the children - it's bigger than the truck and also a lot safer. Please pray for finance to be able to buy the bus and improve the transport situation with the children.
